Nutrition Program

Ask any adult what'srich in calcium.Almost all get it wrong.

96% default to milk — few know sesame seeds contain 10× more calcium, gram for gram. If adults don't know, children have no chance unless someone teaches them. The program grows with the child: from BeSmart (ages 4–9) to Nutrition Smart (ages 8+).

The challenge

Children who understand food make better choices.

In India, 61% of deaths are linked to non-communicable diseases like diabetes and cancer — driven largely by poor nutrition literacy, not a lack of food. Childhood obesity now affects 14.4 million children in India, the second highest of any country. Yet most children — and most adults — were never taught the basics. Nutrition knowledge is the missing layer.

BeSmart: the starting point

Before children are ready for nutrient-level detail, they need the basic instinct — healthy or junk, good habit or bad. BeSmart builds that instinct through a colourful board game, long before Nutrition Smart's deeper science.

What's in the box

  • 2 board games — healthy vs. junk food & good vs. bad habits
  • A colourful book explaining food and habits
  • Laser-cut, UV-coloured pawns shaped like vegetables & fruits
  • A specially designed pen-cum-syringe piece
  • 45 star markers and 45 cross markers

The learning cycle

01

Story

BeSmart's characters and Nutrition Smart's food cards anchor each concept in something concrete and memorable — not abstract facts.

02

Experience

Gameplay brings each concept to life — sorting, comparing and choosing, not memorizing.

03

Reflection

Children start noticing their own food choices at home, connecting what they've learned to daily life.

04

Habit

Repeated play across a 4–20 hour syllabus turns awareness into a lasting instinct.

What children experience

BeSmart (Ages 4–9)

Children build the instinct to spot healthy choices through play — sorting foods and habits into good and bad.

Nutrition Smart (Ages 8+)

Children play through 4 structured modes, learning 15 core nutrients across 40+ foods, while applying basic math like addition and comparison.

A sample student journey

A child who previously reached for packaged snacks starts playing Nutrition Smart in class. Over the syllabus, they learn which foods are actually rich in calcium and iron, and start recognizing traditional Indian foods they'd overlooked. At home, they ask questions about what's in their food. Soon parents notice the child pointing out healthier snacks unprompted. The goal is not perfection — it's awareness, the first step toward lasting change.
